About the Playwright

Since 2012, Cary Mazer has written 17 plays, including SHYLOCK’S BEARD, which won the Judith Royer Award from ATHE.  He was a Professor of Theatre Arts and English at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was involved in the undergraduate Theatre Arts major, directed plays, and was a free-lance dramaturg and a theatre critic for The City Paper.
